It was when I was very little, in my native village in northern Italy, that I discovered my love for animals.

I spent entire days in a small stable taking care of calves, goats, and dogs. It was only when the bell tower of Seren del Grappa chimed at noon that I took a break. I went to get the goat and on a leash we went up to my grandmother's house. I would tie him up outside and run up the stairs to eat the best pasta in the world in the "nonna's" cozy kitchen.

My grandmother wasn't too happy because the visitor with the twisted horns gave off a very strong smell. But I was in heaven. The animal care, grandmother, and pasta experience was one of the most beautiful of my life.

Later, I created my own "barn" by rescuing rabbits including the birth of the Lapin Popotin (The Bunny Bum).

 

Today I feel the same joy of my childhood when I take care of my rabbits. 

​

Since 2019, we have rescued over 100 abandoned rabbits. Like Joan of Arc; the rabbit rescued in winter and who had been living outside for months with an arrow through her thorax. Ti-Brin who was abandoned outside with a fragmented femur and Blue with a fractured heel. The two are now rabbits on three legs and with Jeanne D'Arc they often seem the happiest of all our protégés.

Rescuing rabbits means high costs in emergency and veterinary fees (examinations, blood tests, surgeries, hospitalizations, medications, etc.) for our latest rescues but also for permanent residents of the shelter requiring special care.

​

To help finance our veterinary costs, we import dehydrated herbs from Europe which we sell to veterinary hospitals and clinics, supply stores and to consumers.

​

We strongly believe in the benefits of herbs. These herbs help us balance diets, encourage hay consumption and stimulate our rabbits to search for the roots, flowers and leaves that we hide in their living space.

​

The physical and mental health of our rabbits is very important and each of our 40 rabbits, who live in the house with us, deserve to feel loved and protected.

​

Our mission is to save as many rabbits as possible while educating citizens about the needs of the domestic rabbit and sharing our love and passion for this sensitive, fragile and absolutely magical creature.
